Exciting Visit and Guest Lecture by Dr. Shintaro Shiba

We were honored to host Dr. Shintaro Shiba (Research Scientist and Technical Lead at Woven by Toyota) for an insightful talk titled *“Unlocking the potential of event cameras: From events to motion to 3D understanding.”*Dr. Shiba shared his expertise on how the high temporal resolution of neuromorphic cameras can recover optical flow and 3D scene structures through principled spatio-temporal analysis. He also discussed the industrial challenges and future of energy-efficient computing in robotics. A recognized leader in the event-based camera community and recipient of the JSPS Ikushi Prize, Dr. Shiba holds a Ph.D. from Keio University and TU Berlin. We are also excited to congratulate him on his upcoming appointment as a **Junior Associate Professor at the University of Tokyo!**We thank Dr. Shiba for an inspiring session and wish him the best in his new academic chapter.
